Evening, our Local Community Patrol team was out on Avenue U, keeping watch and ensuring a safe environment for residents and businesses. From checking in on local storefronts to assisting with pedestrian safety, our volunteers remained alert and engaged throughout the night.

During last night’s LCP patrol, our team received feedback that there have been frequent disturbances caused by groups of young people between E 18th and E 19th Streets. Several stores reported being harassed.

After walking the area with some concerned residents and assessing the situation, we immediately contacted the NYPD 61st Precinct to request additional patrol support. Within minutes, thanks to the quick response of the Auxiliary Officers, a patrol car was stationed right between E 18th and E 19th Streets.
